Growth rate of birds and uniformity is compromised if the feeding space is insufficient.
The most important tool in management is feed distribution and proximity of feed and water to the birds as this enables them to achieve maximum feed consumption.
Please note that high temperatures affect feed consumption and there's no reason why you should feed birds during the hottest hours of the day. It's advisable to withdraw feed during hot temperature, but leave the birds on water. This, in another way helps to reduce heat stress and mortality that result from such stress.
As you make a choice of feeders, please note that plastic round feeders are better, as they allow unrestricted movement of birds around the feeders, lead to less feed spillage and more birds can get access to the feed, compared to rectangular wooden ones.
The plastic round feeders are easier to wash, clean and disinfect as compared to wood which can harbor bacteria.
